Holy Quran has been sent to Muslims in Arabic language by Allah (subhananahu wa taala - the Glorious and the Exalted) Allah says in the Holy Quran: “We have sent it down as an Arabic Quran, in order that ye may learn wisdom. (12:2)” Among all the revealed books, it is the greatest. It is considered the most distinguished with reference to the fact that it was revealed to His last Prophet. Among all the religious books sent by Allah, Quran is the only Holy scripture which is in the same form as was sent by Allah and will always be the same. In Quran, Allah tells people that Allah is the custodian of Quran. Allah says in Quran: “It is We Who have sent down the Dhikr (i.e. the Quran) and surely, We will guard it (from corruption)” 15:9

In Quran, Allah (subhananahu wa taala - the Glorious and the Exalted) states that there are three rights of the Holy Quran upon the Muslims.
-
Recite the verses correctly in the same way as was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
-
Understanding of the message of Allah
-
Follow the teachings and guidance of the Allah in daily life
Turteel wa Tajwid
“The best among you are those who learn the Qur’an and teach it (to others).”
- The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him)
Turteel
In Surah Muzammil, verse 4 of the Holy Qur’an, Allah (subhananahu wa taala) commands:
“and recite the Quran in slow measured rhythmic tones”
Turteel is an Arabic word that describes how to recite the Holy Qur’an. It tells us that it should be done in the same way as the angel Jibreel (AS) recited it to the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him). Turteel emphasizes on slow, thoughtful recitation of the Holy Qur’an with correct pronunciation. Allah (subhananahu wa taala - the Glorious and the Exalted) says in the Holy Qur’an: “Those to whom we have delivered the Book recite it as it ought to be recited….” (Al-Baqarah 2:121)
Tajwid
In Arabic, the word Tajwid means “Improving,” or “to make something better”. Referring to the reading of the Holy Qur’an, it means “a manner of beautifying the recitation of the Qur’an by reciting in a much slower manner than turteel.” While offering your prayer, one is supposed to recite the verses of Holy Quran with Turteel, not Tajwid. If you want to learn Tajwid, you’ll have to learn Turteel first. Tajwid involves accurate knowledge of the Arabic alphabet, their phonetic sounds, and the significance of the different kinds of pauses used in verses of the Holy Qur’an. It is must for every Muslim (male or female) to be capable of reading the Holy Qur’an with a correct accent and pronunciation. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Adorn the Qur’an with your voices.” (Narrated by Abu Daud & Nasai) The importance of Tajwid can be well-understood by this Hadith.
We have online courses for Turteel wa Tajwid aiming at teaching the correct pronounciation and phonetic sounds of the letters of the Quran. In order to avoid any mistakes by the learners while reciting Quran, all the rules of Tajwid will be thoroughly explained by the teachers and will be practiced by the learners. Various illustrated charts will be used to help pronounce Arabic alphabets by our capable teachers. We make sure that the students learn important verses from the Holy Quran which are read in payers. All the contents of the courses are designed to cater various age groups keeping in view their learning abilities. |
